GETTING STARTED
Getting therapy is a big decision but getting started can be easy.
You have the right to:
- Know about the therapy process and how it can help.
- Expect your information to be kept confidential in most circumstances, and know the exceptions to confidentiality.
- Stop therapy or choose another therapist at any time.
During your initial session, we will discuss your rights and the therapy process. And you can bring it up again, any time you have questions. We will address any concerns you may have, whenever you have them.
To get started, follow these three easy steps:
- Call us at 713-461-7599 to leave a message.
- Someone will return your call and ask you for some basic information.
- Schedule your first session!
This initial session may be a bit longer than the typical 50 minute session, in order to complete some brief paperwork. It also gives you an opportunity to:
- Describe the issues that brought you to therapy
- Clarify what you hope to gain from therapy
- Determine if our services are appropriate for you
- Learn about our office policies
- Ask questions regarding the therapy process and confidentiality
- See if you are comfortable working with your therapist and his or her approach to therapy
If your therapist is not a good fit, or if your goals and needs would be better addressed with another, we will give you referrals at CCR or elsewhere.
When you are ready, just call 713-461-7599 to get started! We look forward to meeting you.
